Just today, my psychiatrist added Ambien CR to my trazodone regimen. It is supposed to be used to give me some sleep after three or four nights without sleep.

Many of us want to sleep as little as possible. There is so much to do that sleep seems like a waste of time. Yet sleep, an essential time of rest and rejuvenation, benefits our minds and bodies in many ways. When you continuously don’t get the amount of sleep you need, you begin to pay for it in daytime drowsiness, trouble concentrating, irritability, increased risk of falls and accidents, and lower productivity.
Better quality sleep benefits our mood, memory and concentration.

I disagree with Anastasia’s comment about sleeping on your back to improve sleeping. Insomnia can be caused from having sleep apnea and sleep apnea is worsened when sleeping on your back. In my case, sleep apnea occurs twice per hour while sleeping on my side but 9 times per hour while on my back.
