convincing my step-mom to wear CPAP
- My step-mom has sleep apnea and she's supposed to wear a CPAP machine, but she refuses to. She says she can't sleep when she does. After reading this, as well as this: http://www.qmattresses.com/articles-on-healthy-sleep/obstructive-sleep-apnea/obstructive-sleep-apnea/, I've decided to start compiling a list of articles to help her understand how dangerous her condition is. I hope it works because my dad really loves her and he would be devastated if he lost another wife - especially if losing her could be prevented. Any other tips for helping would be greatly appreciated.

What to do !
- Doctors always talk about using a CPAP for obstructive Sleep Apnea, but no one seems to discuss what to do if CPAP doesn't help, especially if you suffer from Central Sleep Apnea ( the brain forgetting to prompt a breath), or a combination of obstructive and central sleep apnea. Are there really no ideas, or possible solutions available? I'd really like some help with this potentially life threatening medical issue. Thanks.

I Never Wanted to Sleep!
- For a long time I guess I could be considered a person that snored, almost all the time. For almost half of my life, I've been overweight. I've always had more than just 5 pounds to lose. I usually wanted and needed to lose up to 50 lbs. It wasn't until recently, that I lost the weight, at a very slow pace. When I was heavy, I snored so much that my husband had to wake me up, a lot of nights - sometimes several times, per night! He would tell me the next day that I was snoring so bad that it sounded like I was gasping for breath, and like I would stop breathing any moment! The days I would wake up feeling very un-rested I would just chalk up to a tossing and turning evening. I never even considered my snoring to be an issue in interrupting my sleep cycle. Boy, was I ever wrong! I started getting mild sore throats and at times my voice would sound raspy. I realized, this was due to snoring so I started to exercise and lost all my weight in about a year. Exercise = good health
