Definition: Shaped like a seahorse (leading to its name) and found deep in the temporal lobe of the brain, this region controls many important brain functions including emotions, learning, and memory processing occurring during sleep.
Examples: The hippocampus processes my short-term memories into my long-term memory while I sleep.
