Avena sativa has a mild sedative effect. Seeds and straw are used. These are rich in B vitamins. Oats have long been usewd in the herbal treatment of insomnia.

Avena Sativa is the scientific name for common field oats widely cultivated in most temperate areas and sold as oatmeal and rolled oats.

Warnings or Side Effects of Avena Sativa (Oats):

If you are usig this as a tincture or extract, as with all herbal remedies, don't use during pregnancy or when breast feeding. Otherwise, this product has no known advers side effects.
