There are a lot of things that can ruin your sleep, but is summer weather one of them?
Those of us who live in Westernized, industrialized countries likely enjoy the comforts of modern living, including exquisite climate control. In the summertime, this means air conditioning to moderate the high temperatures and humidity. Not everyone chooses to (or can) keep their sleep environment perfectly cooled, however, and when the mercury rises you might spend your evenings sweltering. Does this ruin your sleep?
I presently reside in the midwest United States and another disruption plagues my sleep: thunderstorms. Booming thunder and flashes of lightning may intrude on my sleep. More problematic are the occasional tornado sirens that peel through my neighborhood on tumultuous nights. These certainly can be extremely disruptive!

I live in Los Angeles, and the weather there has fluctuated from overcast and cool to humid and hot during this summer. The heat can knock me out at night, making me drowsy, but the coolness wakes me up and throws off my sleeping schedule. I end up groggy during the day and sleepless at night.
