Christmas Presents to Help You Sleep Better

As Christmas gets closer, there are just a few shopping days left to get the perfect presents to help you sleep better.

In brainstorming possible gifts to help someone sleep better, my first thoughts were of new pillows, bedding, or even a mattress. These creature comforts of the sleep environment may be just the thing to get a loved one through a cold winter's night.

Another idea is something that is currently underneath my Christmas tree: a new alarm clock. I have a standard inexpensive one sitting on my nightstand, but this year I am upgrading to one that has a docking station for my iPhone. Though we really shouldn't need alarm clocks, this one will allow me to awaken to my favorite music. If you want to go all out, you might even look into one that mimics the sunrise with a light box.

If you or someone you love has a sleep disorder, you might give the enduring gift of finally getting things checked out with a sleep study. It may be just the thing to get 2011 off to a great start! If you have other suggestions for gifts to improve sleep, please share them in the comments below.
