In a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), one in nine adults reported never getting enough sleep during the previous month.
Some 11 percent said there was not one single day during the previous month that they were able to get enough sleep. Most adults need seven to nine hours of sleep each night. However, it is possible to determine your sleep needs. Another 16.8 percent said they had gotten insufficient sleep for more than half of the month.
The data were collected as part of the CDC's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, which surveyed 404,000 people in all 50 states via telephone. Experts agree that insufficient sleep can have major health consequences.

Fascinating info.. and the numbers can rise as life becomes tougher. With financial crises going on, people are becoming just too anxious to sleep. We see the rise in sales of all types of sleeping aids and pills out there. These are band-aid solutions. What we truly need is a long-term agenda on having quality sleep each night – naturally. Fortunately, this is achievable through the wonderful gift of MUSIC.
The only long term solution to sleeping problems is to change your habits. Avoid staying in bed when you can’t sleep and don’t do anything but sleep and have sex in your bed. Stick to a regular sleep-wake pattern and see to it that your bedroom is quit, cool and dark.
I learnt that and more through my CBT-therapist. CBT is the only method that is proven effective. Get a trained CBT-therapist, buy a self-help book from amazon or try it online (www.cbt-tree.com). It’s the only thing that really helps.
Music is nice though…
