According to data from a 2006 survey by the Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the French are living up to their reputation for enjoying the good things in life, including more sleep.

The OECD analyzed the leisure activity among 18 of its 30 member countries. It found that the French spend on average nearly 9 hours a day in bed. Americans, who also seem to like their sleep, spend some 8.5 hours a day in bed.

There are many benefits to getting an adequate amount of sleep, so taking a lesson from the French may be just what you need.
